Perimeter Breached (2022)

This composition drew inspiration from Frank Stella's Euphonia, a piece permanently displayed at the Moores Opera House, University of Houston. Stella's use of bold lines, vivid colors, repetitive motifs, and interwoven figures provided an interesting starting point to reinterpret these concepts in my own musical style. I aimed to capture the lively and unstoppable energy of Stella's artwork by crafting a highly rhythmic and energetic piece. This composition showcases the saxophone quartet's virtuosic capabilities while echoing the vibrant spirit of Stella's creation.
