Memories of the Subsoil (2024)

"Memories of the Subsoil" is an artistic interpretation of the cycle of rocks. Cycles are inherent to the

development of narrative structure within music, poetry, dance, drama, and related disciplines. This

collaborative project uses the four movements of the cycle of rocks (magma, igneous rock, sedimentation and metamorphic rock) to remind us of our own ties to the Earth and its intervals of birth, growth, decay, death and renewal.

Commissioned by the Cynthia Woods Mitchel Center for the Arts

Premiered at the Baffler Museum in Houston, Texas on November of 2023

Performed at the Onix Marathon of New Music on October of 2024

Performed at Flute New Music Consortium Festival at Omaha, Nebraska on October of 2024
